Defendants in several drug cases pleaded not guilty to charges ranging from distribution to school-zone violations when they were arraigned in Berkshire Superior Court on Tuesday.
Antwan J. "Discuss" Saunders, 30, of West Housatonic Street, Pittsfield, pleaded not guilty to four counts of cocaine distribution, second offense, four counts of conspiracy to violate drug laws, and one count of drug violation in a school zone.
The charges stem from four separate alleged drug transactions in October, according to the Berkshire District Attorney's office.
Saunders was one of three men charged in connection with a Berkshire County Drug Task Force investigation. The other men were previously arraigned on charges.
Pierre S. Norris, 30, of Cherry Street, Pittsfield, was released on $1,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to single counts of drug possession with intent to distribute and drug violation in a school zone in connection with an Oct. 31 Pittsfield case investigated by the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
John C. "Jay" Spratling, 25, of Cherry Street, Pittsfield, was released on $1,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to single counts of cocaine possession with intent to distribute and a school-zone drug violation in connection with an Oct. 31 Pittsfield case investigated by the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
And Sarah E. Turgeon, 22, of Cole Avenue, Williamstown, was released on personal recognizance after she pleaded not guilty to single counts of cocaine possession with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in connection with an Oct. 30 Williamstown case investigated by the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
